CheckMySpeed is a simple smartphone app that helps people in motion to monitor their speed.
Speed (or pace) is a critical parameter for those who are in motion. Starting from slow speeds of people who walk, jog or run, via medium speeds of those who cycle, up to high speeds of those who drive, speed limits may need to be observed.
This simple app alerts the user (via blinking screen and soft voice announcements) that the speed (or pace) they have set, is crossed. If too slow or too fast, the app voices a sound alerting the user as well as blink the screen (red/black).
An important feature of this app is its ability to send out an email notification to a predefined email address; The email includes the speed and the coordinates of the location in which the speed crossing occured. In addition, a link to a static map is provided, such that trainers, partners or parents can observe this location on a map.
